According to reports, Grammy ballots went out to voters last Friday, and it was revealed that both Drake and The Weeknd chose not to submit their new albums for consideration.

They are however still credited on other songs as guest artists, but their respective solo projects, ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ by Drake and ‘Dawn FM’ by The Weeknd are conspicuously missing.

Just so you know, Drake’s issue with the Grammy Awards and Recording Academy began in 2017, when he won two awards that he said he didn’t want.

According to him, ‘Hotline Bling’ was placed in the rap category rather than the pop category.

Drake said, “I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after.”

Last year, he even pulled out his songs after they were already sent in for consideration, as he received nominations for his album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ and the single ‘Way 2 Sexy’.

As for The Weeknd, he slammed the Grammys last year, declaring his intention to permanently boycott the awards after ‘Blinding Lights’, despite being one of the biggest songs in the year in review was completely snubbed.
