Nigerians now accept my type of music – BOJ

Nigerian artiste Bolaji Ojudokan popularly known as BOJ, in a chat with HoneyPot on Entertainment Splash, reveals that the Nigerian music culture is gradually tilting to the point of accommodating his type of music.

The urban/pop singer said:

“Coming to Nigeria, what I expected wasn’t what it was. I wanted to stand out as an indie-artiste, I mean an independent artiste, but when I saw the way it’s done, I had to join a record label.

I have made singles under the label and I have just made an album under the label. When we started, people were telling us that the music is too calm and Nigerians won’t like it. But look at where we are today, the tempo has slowed down, the sound is changing and I see the culture shifting toward our kind of music.”

Speaking about his love for music and what it does to him, he said:

“When I do my music, it brings out a different person in me, to be honest. I am very excited in the studio, I am more free when I am making music. I just do any song that I like, I don’t know if people will like it or not.”
