Angelo Ogbonna, a stalwart defender, is bidding farewell to West Ham United after a distinguished nine-year tenure in East London, the club announced on Wednesday.
During his time with the Hammers, Ogbonna made a notable 204 appearances in the Premier League and played a crucial role in their triumphant Europa Conference League campaign last year.
The 36-year-old Italy international, who previously played for Juventus, faced numerous challenges, including a severe cruciate ligament injury in 2021 that sidelined him for nearly a year.
Despite his injuries, Ogbonna remained a dedicated supporter of the club’s community initiatives. “He will always be a beloved member of the West Ham United family,” the club stated.
