Actor Lee Jung Jae, known for his role in Squid Game, has reportedly disclosed the release plans for the highly-anticipated second season of the series.
After the immense global success of Squid Game in 2021 and its official renewal for a new season, fans have been eagerly awaiting its premiere. Earlier speculations hinted at a 2024 release, but a recent report from Business Insider suggests that the actual release date may be closer than expected.
According to the report, Lee Jung Jae, who portrayed the lead character Seong Gi Hun in the series, hinted at the release during a promotional appearance for his upcoming Star Wars series, The Acolyte. While details remain sparse, Lee mentioned that Squid Game season 2 is slated for a December release.
The news has sparked excitement among fans, although Netflix has yet to confirm the information. Squid Game is a Korean survival series that captivated audiences worldwide with its gripping narrative about a deadly game contest offering financial freedom to its participants. Season 2 will see the return of familiar faces like Gong Yoo, Lee Jung Jae, Wi Ha Joon, and Lee Byung Hyun, alongside new additions to the cast.
