The Lagos State Food Hub at Idi-Oro, Mushin Local Government Area, opened at the weekend with a food fair to signal the official commencement of commercial activities at the hub. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, late last year, officially opened the hub to serve as a megacenter for fresh farm produce from the source to the consumers. Also, while addressing journalists at the grand finale of the 2023 World Food Day celebration at the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, Sanwo-Olu, disclosed that the first phase of the largest food logistics hub in West Africa would be inaugurated in 2024 to boost food security in the state. The governor, accompanied by Abisola Olusanya, the Commissioner for Agriculture; Oluwarotimi Fashola, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rice Initiative; and members of the state executive council, inspected various agricultural produce and products on display. The commissioner of agriculture was seen in a viral video expressing her anger as she noticed some of the market people swindling some of their customers.
