The FENTY x PUMA Creeper Makes a Bold Comeback with an Enhanced Design

In September, Rihanna reclaimed her role as the creative director of the highly coveted FENTY x PUMA collaboration, introducing the football-inspired Avanti sneaker and corresponding global installations. Responding to enthusiastic fan anticipation, Rihanna is now relaunching a beloved classic from the initial collaboration: the Creeper, named the Shoe of the Year in 2016.

Originally introduced in 2015, the original FENTY x PUMA Creeper reimagined PUMA’s iconic Suede silhouette with a platformed design, featuring a sturdy rubber “Creeper” outsole that elevated the brand to new heights. The latest iteration, known as the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty, takes it a step further, being “bigger, bolder, and phatter than ever,” as described by the brand. The Creeper Phatty boasts an oversized construction, a stacked gum sole, and eye-catching colorways, including the classic Black/White, vibrant Blue/Green, and charming Lavender/Cherry Red.

Rihanna commented, “We took our OG Creeper and made it bigger and badder. When designing the Creeper Phatty, we wanted to reinvent the OG Creeper that was loved by so many. It’s a classic silhouette that has been missed, so its return had to be bigger.”

Maria Valdes, Chief Product Officer at PUMA, added, “The original Creeper changed the game for us. We knew it was time to bring it back. This shoe has universal appeal, and we’ve seen tremendous consumer excitement for the silhouette to return. We are excited to not only be able to build upon the existing silhouette with the Creeper Phatty but also expand our offering to the entire family.”
