Another day, another history making moment for Nigerian music as Burna Boy has made history as the first-ever African artiste to secure a UK Number one album with his latest project, I Told Them.
This was made known by the Official Charts Company which confirmed that Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, I Told Them, debuted at number one this week on the UK albums chart.
The self-proclaimed African Giant was also presented with a plaque by the British record chart company in commemoration of his record.
Taking to Twitter, the company wrote, “He told them! @burnaboy makes UK chart HISTORY today as he claims his first Number 1 album.”
An excited Burna Boy also quoted the tweet with the write up, “Let’s Have It! #ITOLDTHEM #ITOLDTHEMNUMBER1.”
