The board of the Africa Film Academy (AFA), organizers of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) have announced the nominations for this year’s edition of the award.
Billed as the “Renaissance: Legacy in Motion” edition, this year’s event will honor the memory of its late founder and CEO, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, who passed away in January and this nineteenth edition will be celebrating outstanding achievements in African cinema across twenty-six categories.
According to the organizers, “It’s no news that this year is a sad one for us. This will be the first AMA Awards without our founder, Ms. Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, MFR. Hence, this edition is a reunion of sorts, our way of keeping her alive by honoring her legacy in motion.”
