Throughout his career, Jane Dolapo served as an unwavering pillar for the Starboy CEO’s success. The gifted songwriter consistently showered his mother with adoration and reverence in his musical creations, acknowledging her instrumental role. Her enduring presence was felt at his performances, and he celebrated her contribution in songs like “Joy,” “Jaiye Jaiye,” “Mummy Mi,” and others.

Wizkid frequently commended his mother’s pivotal support in his artistic journey, often expressing his deep affection for her. He even immortalized her name, “Morayo,” through a tattoo on his hand.

Individuals who had the privilege of meeting Wizkid’s mother attest to her exceptional character. Notably, on the 26th of August, 2022, fellow Afrobeats luminary Davido encountered her at an airport and took a snapshot together. Davido shared the image on Twitter, extolling her as an “amazing first-class citizen.” Playfully, he jestingly referred to her as such due to helping her with her luggage, humorously stating, “Dem know say nah First class citizen.”

As of now, Wizkid has not publicly addressed his mother’s passing, leaving the circumstances of her demise shrouded in mystery. During the Afronation Fest in Detroit, Michigan, pop sensation Burna Boy took a poignant pause in his performance to honor Wizkid’s mother. Before launching into a rendition of “Ginger,” a song co-written by Burna Boy and Wizkid, he implored the audience to observe a moment of silence in memory of the late Mrs. Balogun.

In this time of profound sorrow, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the grieving artist and his family. May her soul find eternal rest.
