Burna Boy Wins Bet Award for “Best International Act”

Grammy Award Winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, known as Burnaboy, has emerged as the recipient of the prestigious Best International Act award at the 2023 Black Entertainment Awards (BET). Despite his absence from the event, Burnaboy has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years. His 2022 album, “Love, Damini,” achieved global acclaim, and he previously secured the BET Award in the same category in 2019 and 2021.

Outshining notable contenders such as Ayra Starr, Central Cee, and Stormzy, among others, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, popularly known as the “African Giant,” triumphed in the highly coveted BET award category. Although Burna Boy was not present at the moment of announcement, his mother, Bose Ogulu, graciously accepted the award on his behalf.

The list of nominees for this esteemed category also included Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles.
