Though it is consumed by various tribes in Nigeria, Asaro, often referred to as yam pottage or yam porridge, is more popular in the Yoruba-speaking regions of the country.

Asaro is made from Puna Yam which is boiled till it’s tender and it’s cooked in a blend of Peppers, onions, palm oil, and seasoning.
