Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state, has been trending for some time now over a recent video of him issuing a challenge to the herbalists of the land saying that they’re also supposed to be custodians of the land.
They are supposed to be like the supplementary effort of the government but instead, they let people come in and destroy all effort impeding a road project and even kidnapping the engineers working on it.
The governor was at the flag-off ceremony for road construction when he disclosed that some members of the community were obstructing the project. The governor wondered why people would be obstructing a project that was meant to bring development to their community asking them ‘why they don’t like good things”.
Speaking to the herbalists in the community, Governor Wike wondered why the gods they worship allow people to carry out such rebellious acts.
You are crying that Ozochi does not have a road, no road linking them and Government has come to do the road, to link your community and instead of you to come out and own the project you alllow people to begin to kidnap the workers, to sabotage our own development. What kind of system is this?
