It’s Afrobeats to the world, as MTV has announced the nominees for the 2022 MTV European Music Awards.
Our very own Tems was nominated in the Best New Artiste category alongside acts like Seventeen, Gayle, Baby Keem, Dove Cameron and Stephen Sanchez.
Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Tems again got nominated in the Best African Act category alongside Black Sherif from Ghana, Musa Keys from South African, and Zuchu from Tanzania.
Harry Styles has the most nominations with seven nods, including Best Artiste, Best Song, and Best Video, while Taylor Swift comes in second with six nominations.
Nicki Minaj and Rosalia have five nominations each, and they are both up for Best Song and Best Artiste respectively.
The MTV EMA’s is scheduled to take place in Dusseldorf, Germany on the 13th of November, and this year will also mark the sixth time Germany will be hosting the event.
