Child Malnutrition is a serious condition that happens when your diet does not contain the right amount of nutrients. Causes include a poor diet, digestive conditions or another disease.

According to Unicef, nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to undernutrition; undernutrition puts children at greater risk of dying from common infections, increases the frequency and severity of such infections, and delays recovery.

Symptoms are fatigue, dizziness and weight loss. Untreated malnutrition can cause physical or mental disability.
According to Kemi, it takes a community to raise a child and the quality of our lives is directly proportional to the quality of our community and you can’t be separate essentially.
We need to learn to take responsibility for the children around us and care for them as we care for ours
Child Malnutrition treatment must address any underlying conditions and replace missing nutrients.
Signs of Malnutrition
  • Unplanned weight loss.
  • Feeling weak or tired.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Swelling or fluid accumulation.
  • Eating only a small amount at a time.
They help your body grow and repair tissues. They also regulate bodily functions such as breathing and the beating of your heart. Malnutrition in older adults can lead to a number of health problems, including Unintentional weight loss.

The best way to prevent malnutrition is to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Try not to miss or skip meals and aim to eat three small meals a day and two to three snacks a day if your appetite is poor.

Take drinks after your meal, not before or during as that can fill you up.
