Will Smith released a video Friday apologizing to Chris Rock after he slapped the comedian onstage at the Oscars earlier this year.
“Chris, I apologize to you,” Mr. Smith said in a five-minute video he uploaded to his social-media accounts. “My behavior was unacceptable.”
Mr. Smith had previously maintained a relatively low profile following the incident.
“There is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,” Mr. Smith said Friday. “I am deeply remorseful.”
