South African musician and record producer Master KG has opened up as regards his alleged rift with singer Nomcebo Zikode over their monster hit song ‘Jerusalema’.
Master KG who produced the song in an interview stated that they both have a misunderstanding which might be resolved, even though that himself and Nomcebo have not spoken for a long time.
He said,
“There is no drama with me and Nomcebo, just a misunderstanding here and there. The issues are with her and Open Mic, not me. We don’t have an issue, well, from my side. She said she was not paid.
“At the end of the day, the masters are owned by Open Mic, both her and I are just performing artists, and they need to resolve the issue with splits and stuff.”
He continued,
“We haven’t spoken in a long time, I see her posts and I like them. I also understand that she is busy, and we are always touring.
“Maybe soon, when the matter is resolved we will get together and celebrate the success of the song.”
If you would recall, we reported that singer Nomcebo last year went on a ranting spree on Twitter where she revealed that she had not been paid her royalties despite Jerusalema’s international success.
Responding to the call out, in a now deleted tweet, Master KG alleged that Nomcebo had received money, he then accused her of being greedy for allegedly demanding seventy percent royalties from the song instead of the agreed fifty percent.
Nomcebo however clarified that Master KG was not her boss, and that her issue is with the record company, Open Mic.
