Kidnapped Ondo monarch regains freedom

The kidnapped traditional ruler of Iyani-Akoko, Oba Joel Sunday Daodu has regained his freedom from the den of his abductors.
The monarch was seized on Sunday by gunmen along Owo/ Ikare road.

Spokesman of the police command, Femi Joseph confirmed the development , stressing that the monarch has been reunited with his family.

TVC news could not ascertain if the family of the king paid ransom to his abductors as they had placed a five million naira ransom on him before it was reduced to three million.

Meanwhile, the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has expressed delight over the release of the monarch.

Akeredolu, who hailed security agencies in the state for their efforts in ensuring the release of the monarch, said his administration is determined to make the state unsafe for criminally-minded people.
