Fire guts NAFDAC warehouse in Oshodi

TVC E. The premises of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Oshodi, was on Saturday (18th of March 2017) razed by fire.

The fire, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), started from the power house of the agency around 3.15 p.m.

Adesina Tiamiyu, the general manager of LASEMA, said, “The inferno started from the power house, escalating to the nearby warehouse where chemicals were stored.”

According to Mr. Tiamiyu, other buildings including the administrative building housing the central laboratory complex of the Agency, were salvaged by the combined team of LASEMA and Lagos State Fire Service.

The LASEMA boss added that officials of NAFDAC also rendered necessary support for the intervention.

Mr. Tiamiyu, however, said an investigation will be carried out to determine cause of incident.
