Kendrick Lamar fires back at Drake with diss track “Euphoria” as their feud heats up

Kendrick Lamar has dropped a new diss track titled “Euphoria” targeting Drake in their ongoing hip-hop feud. This latest installment adds fuel to the fire between the two rap heavyweights, drawing in notable figures from the genre.

The track, named after the HBO series on which Drake is an executive producer, was released on Lamar’s YouTube channel. In the six-minute song, Lamar criticizes Drake’s parenting, his biracial identity, and his Canadian roots, referring to him as a “master manipulator and habitual liar.”

Lamar’s lyrics question Drake’s authenticity, asking, “How many more Black features ’til you finally feel that you’re Black enough?” He also accuses Drake of making music that merely “pacifies” listeners.

Their feud dates back to 2013 when Lamar asserted his dominance on the Big Sean track “Control.” The rivalry reignited this year when Lamar appeared on Future and Metro Boomin’s hit “Like That,” responding to Drake and J. Cole’s song “First Person Shooter” that named the three artists as the “big three” of hip-hop.

In April, Drake released two diss tracks: “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” “Push Ups” mocks Lamar’s shorter stature and his mainstream collaborations. “Taylor Made Freestyle” used AI to mimic the voices of Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur, leading to a cease and desist letter from Shakur’s estate.

“Euphoria” references these incidents, with Lamar questioning, “Am I battling ghosts or AI?” The feud has drawn in other rappers, such as the Weeknd and Kanye West, who have released tracks referencing the conflict. Social media responses from artists like Rick Ross and Metro Boomin have also emerged following the release of “Euphoria.”
