OYSIEC ready for February 11 polls

TVC E. Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) Chairman John Olajide Ajeigbe has said the commission is prepared for the February 11 council election. He added that the commission was not lacking anything towards organising the election.

Ajeigbe spoke at a briefing yesterday in Ibadan. He noted that election will come up in 351 wards, 4,783 polling units which may likely be increased to 5,620 polling units, “if necessary”, using the updated voters’ registration from the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

The chairman said the commission was expecting the 28 registered parties to participate in the election, but was quick to add that this would be determined by the number of parties that comply with registration details.
