The Ondo state Governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu has assured traditional rulers in the state that his administration will carry them along in the scheme of things.
Akeredolu, who was represented by the deputy Governor-elect, Agboola Ajayi gave the assurance at a thanksgiving programme organised by one hundred and three crowns club, made-up of high ranking monarchs in the state.
TVC’s Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that it is the second anniversary of a group of traditional rulers in Ondo State, who are not first class monarchs.
These monarchs claim that they have been marginalised in the scheme of things by successive governments.
Their monthly salary is not above twenty-five thousand naira, which they see as ridiculous.
They are also not happy that they are not given the respect they deserve by government.
In spite of these challenges, the monarchs still have time to express gratitude to God.
But the state Governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) promised to address the problems being faced by the monarchs.
Represented by the Deputy Governor-elect, Agboola Ajayi, Akeredolu said traditional institution in the state will be accorded the respect they deserve by his administration.
With this assurance from the Deputy Governor-elect, the monarchs are hopeful that their welfare will be given adequate attention.
