TVC E. American singer, Madonna, has said she once contemplated blowing up the White House, the official residence of the US president, Donald Trump.
Madonna said this on Saturday during the Women’s March on Washington, a demonstration attended by half a million people.
The singer, while delivering a speech at the march, said, “Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House,” she said. “But I know this won’t change anything. We cannot fall into despair.”
Madonna is renowned for making controversial comments about politics and her world view in general.
“Let’s march together through this darkness and with each step know that we are not afraid, that we are not alone, that we will not back down, that there is power in our unity and that no opposing force stands a chance in the face of true solidarity. And to our detractors that insist that this march will never add up to anything, f*** you. F*** you. It is the beginning of much-needed change, change that will require sacrifice,” Madonna added.
Similar anti-Trump protests also took place in Paris, London, Amsterdam and other major cities across the world.
Alicia Keys, Scarlett Johansson were among the speakers and performers at the Women’s March on Washington.
Hollywood stars, Amy Schumer, America Ferrera, Janelle Monáe and Ashley Judd, were also in attendance.
