Brooks Koepka secured his second victory of the LIV Golf League season on Sunday, shooting a remarkable 7-under 63 at The Greenbrier to defeat Jon Rahm in a playoff.
Koepka clinched the win with a par on the first playoff hole.
Rahm, who had a two-shot lead going into the final round, finished with a 65, including birdies on two of his last three holes, to tie Koepka at 19-under 191 and force the playoff. During the playoff at the par-3 18th hole, Rahm found himself in a challenging position after hitting his shot over the green and into a bunker. He managed to blast out to about 25 feet, but his par putt to extend the playoff narrowly missed the cup.
This victory marks Koepka’s fifth win since the Saudi-funded league began in June 2022, having previously won the LIV Golf Singapore event this year. Jason Kokrak finished in third place with a score of 63.
Richard Bland, the 51-year-old English golfer who won two senior majors this year, needed a birdie on the 18th hole to tie for the lead but ended up making a bogey for a final score of 65, finishing two strokes behind.
Additionally, Koepka’s team, Smash, won the team title by three shots, further adding to the success of the weekend.
