Former Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko, owns up to properties in Dubai worth $50m

TVC E. Former comptroller of the customs, Abdullahi Dikko whose health is fast detoriating due to cancer has owned up to owning properties in Dubai worth $50m.

This disclosure was made by the anti-corruption investigators who are currently investigating the former comptroller and also in discussions with him

The former comptroller, after being declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) returned to the country looking very frail and fragile. It was later learn’t that he was suffering from prostrate cancer which was also at the terminal stage.

During interrogation, investigators said Dikko Abdullahi vehemently denied owning properties anywhere else in the world except a huge house in Abuja and a multi-billion Naira farm in his home state of Katsina.

A source involved in the negotiations said Dikko was not arrested and detention because the authorities were worried that if harshly treated, he might die in detention, making it harder to recover his assets from Dubai.
