Students shut down UNIPORT over new fees policy

UNIPORT

All academic activities at the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT have been put on hold as students protested a new school fees policy introduced by the management.

The protesting students said they would not accept the school’s new policy of no fee no examination, adding that it was a means to ill-treat the students.

According to sources, the protesters who started around 4:30am had totally stopped vehicular and human traffic on the East-West road.

The students said they would continue until they were addressed by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Sunday Lale.

It was learnt that the school was supposed to commence examinations today.
