The director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu made moves to stall the continuation of his trial, before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Kanu, in an application, presented through one of his counsels, prayed the court to stay further proceedings on his trial, until the Appeal Court takes a decision on a ruling by the court.
A counsel to Kanu, Chucks Muomah said he had filed an application for stay of proceedings, pending the hearing on protection of witnesses, at the court of appeal?
While not opposing the right of appeal, Counsel for the prosecution,Magaji Labaran ,said they were opposing the application for stay of proceedings and the allegations of bias?
Labaran further prayed the court to disregard the application and move for a speedy trial?
After the day’s proceedings, a counsel to Kanu, spoke to newsmen, insisting that the judge was biased.
Kanu’s appeal came after Justice John Tsoho granted the DSS the permission to protect its witness.
The court in its ruling had directed that the witnesses be shielded from the audience and their names and addresses be protected from the public.
The case has been adjourned to the twenty sixth of April?
