Pensioners demand payment of pension arrears

The Secretary of the Oyo State branch of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Segun Abatan has challenged the Federal Government to include and assent to the 42 month pension arrears been owed its members in the 2016 budget.

Comrade Abatan who made this call in Ibadan emphasized that many of its members had suffered ill fate due to what they perceived to be government’s neglect over the years.

He charged the central authorities not to see the inclusion of the outstanding arrears as padding of the budget but an attempt to help ameliorate pensioners from their present state of well-being which they say is non desirable.
