Fuel scarcity : Special Task Force raids black market operators

As fuel scarcity bites harder across Nigeria, the Joint Special Task force, in Plateau State, raided roadside petrol sellers, popularly known as black marketers.

The black marketers were accused of taking advantage of the current nation wide fuel scarcity to sell above the government-approved pump prices of petroleum products.

This forced the leadership of the Special Task force to issue a two day ultimatum to the fuel black marketers, through the local media, to stop operating in the state.

A few days after the  ban, the STF descended on areas ill-reputed for the activities of the black marketers.

Gallons filled with petrol, Diesel as well as kerosene were seized and given out free to motorists and  commuters in the area.
With the recent assurances given by Nigeria’s Minister of petroleum resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu that the current fuel scarcity would be over by April 7th Nigerians are praying and hoping that the pains of fuel scarcity will indeed end on that day.
