President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to end the brazen attacks by armed fulani herdsmen and ordered thepolice and the military to take all necessary action to stop the carnage.
In a statement signed by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, The President said stopping the violence was now a priority for his administration.
President Buhari’s directive, follows the latest attack in Ukpabi Nimbo, a community in Enugu State, where dozens of people were reportedly killed by heavily armed herdsmen.
The President has been accused of not responding firmly to the attacks that have spread to other states, and has been widely criticised for his silence.
Security agencies led by Inspector-General of Police have visited Ukpabi Nimbo to personally oversee investigations into the attack.
