TVC E. Otunba Tunji Sotimirin a veteran Nollywood in a chat with TVC, shares his experience on how he was treated by a military man. He also has some very insightful messages to parents and youth attaining greater heights.
The actor whose activity in the Nigerian movie industry spans almost three decades believes the Military’s disrespect for a common man should stop.
He said ” There was a day I was driving and there comes this military man driving towards me, he was on a one way drive ( wrong driving ), I asked him to do the right thing and take the right lane but he refused. Surprisingly, the military officer got down from his car, faced me and said: So then what, what will you do, what can you do? The bystanders immediately advised me to let him go, saying: that’s how some of the behave.”
The Actor and comedian continued saying, ”people should do the right thing, the people around asked me to allow the military man go before he shoots anyone as it is not far from what they can do.
All I demand is respect and regards for common man, no matter who you are or what position you think you occupy”.
The song and play writer who does not see any reason to celebrate today being the ‘World Theater Day’ is not happy with the criminal and barbaric activities in the country and he encouraged families to compel their wards and children to do it right, so that the rate of crime will be reduced.
Otunba Sotiminrin who is also a lecturer and a musician concluded by saying, Oruko rere san ju wura ati fadaka lo. Meaning, good name is better than gold and silver.
Tunji Sotimirin starred in ‘Owuro Lojo’ alongside a young Joke Silva in the early 90s and has also featured in numerous movies including Tade Ogidan’s Hostages. The funny actor is currently a lecturer in the department of Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos.
