Buhari reiterates determination to overcome present challenges

TVC E, NEWS –  President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians of his determination to face and overcome the present challenges facing the country.

He affirmed this during the ruling All Progressives Congress party’s National Executive Council meeting today in Abuja.

It  is the first formal meeting of the party’s highest decision making body, the National Executive Council, since the APC took the mantle of leadership about ten months ago

A lot has happened in this period throwing up such key challenges as a downturn in the economy, insecurity, and rising unemployment.

The meeting is well attended by state governors, ministers, legislators and high ranking party members.

A minute’s  silence is observed  for the party’s deceased members, including those who lost their lives in the various elections that have taken place in the country since .

The party’s National chairman John Oyegun observes that this  meeting is coming at a time when there’s need for members to rededicate themselves to the mantra of the party.

He is particularly worried by the hardship Nigerians are currently going through,  and calls on members to deliberate deeply on how all promises made by the Party to Nigerians can be fulfilled.

It has been difficult  for President Muhammadu Buhari who has spent the period since coming to power picking up the pieces.

He urges Nigerians that this is not  time for complaints  and assures them that they will be relieved  in due time.

Speaking for the first time on  the Rivers state re-run election, the President expresses  dissatisfaction at the manner the polls were conducted, stressing that it is the responsibility of the electoral umpire, Nigerians and security agencies to uphold the essence of democracy.

It is a time for frank talk and the President does not hold back. He insists that the APC must  re-discover itself and all members must at all times to stand by the Government they put in power ?as the stakes get higher.
