Somi, Fendika to headline GlobalFest 2016

Jazz Musician Somi is set to thrill New York residents at the 2015 Globalfest.

The annual event that will hold at the famed Webster Hall will see the singer perform with an acoustic chamber jazz septet.

She is set draw on the cosmopolitan attitude of Lagos, with modern jazz and soul grooves that is the focus of her last studio album “The Lagos Music Salon.”

Also performing at the festival is dance ensemble Fendika from Ethiopia. The collective is known for reviving the traditional music and dance scene in Addis Ababa.

Globalfest aims to bring down boundaries between countries and create cultural opportunities for individual artists and for governments, sponsors, scholars and critics to collaborate.
