Lagos state govt. debunks reports of Lassa Fever outbreak

lassa-fever22TVC E, NEWS – The Lagos state government has debunked rumours making the round that there has been an outbreak of Lassa fever in the state.

State commissioner for health, Jide Idris, in a press briefing in Lagos explained that there are only suspected cases of the disease and the ministry is still carrying out investigations.

The commissioner also advised health workers to be vigilant while discharging their duties so as to minimise the spread of the disease.

He equally appealed to Lagosians to avoid contact with rats by blocking possible hide outs while maintaining hygienic practices like hand washing.
