The management of the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo has announced its readiness to quarantine some associates of lassa fever patient admitted believing that they may have endangered their lives through direct contact with the patient.
The Medical Director of FMC Jalingo who spoke through the representative of Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) Dr Ahmed Jatolo in an interview with Tvcnews at Jalingo, made the disclosure stressing that the hospital had lost 3 of its patients to lassa virus while other three affected have been quarantined at a special ward within the hospital premises.
He added that the hospital have enough manpowers and equipment to handle the cases of the affected victims as well as to contain the spread of the killer virus

Following the outbreak of lassa fever in Taraba State, the state government in collaboration with the management of the Jalingo Federal Medical Centre has intestified efforts to curb the spread of the killer virus.
The state commissioner of health and the management of FMC, has embarked on enlightenment tour within the state capital gear toward educating the general public on the danger of lassa virus
The management of FMC on its part had formugated all its wards as part of measurement put in place to protect patients and staff of the hospital
Some of the residents of Jalingo told Tvcnews what they know about the virus while some want government to take the ongoing awareness campaign to the right people at the grass root.
