Amosun protects Aregbesola’s aide from mob attack

Idiat Babalola, an aide of Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, would have been lynched by a mob of youths at the burial of late Senator Adeleke in Ede, Osun State on Monday if not for the intervention of Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

The riotous youths who had been creating trouble since Sunday, when the Senator died suddenly, were at their game but Amosun was on hand to save a life.

According to the Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the Ogun State Governor, Adejuwon Soyinka, the crowd of sympathisers demanded that Babalola be made to leave the premises of the Ede home of the Adelekes as she was being touted to become the running mate of the anointed candidate of the APC.

Despite pleas from family members of the deceased, the youths insisted and started shouting and raining curses on her.
