Ex-governor of Bendel State, Samuel Ogbemudia dies at 84

Former military governor of the Mid-West State, Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia has died at the age of 84.
He passed away Friday morning in Benin, the Edo State capital.

Ogbemudia was also elected civilian governor of the defunct Bendel state after winning the August 1983 gubernatorial election under the platform of the National Party of Nigeria.

Born on 17th September 1932, the retired officer, politician and sports promoter had been ill, and was said to be unable to stand on his feet.
