TVC E. A security expert Okechukwu Nwaguma has said, the Nigerian Police has failed in so many places, they highly centralized one size fits all system.
Okechukwu the TVC Breakfast Show, guest also said ‘There is need for decentralization and that the government is not helping the police in terms of fund else there wouldn’t be need collecting bribe from commuters.
The security expert said, the recent pronouncement by President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly approving the immediate recruitment of ten thousand personnel into the Nigeria Police Force was greeted with great excitement and enthusiasm across the nation.
And that the recruitment of additional 10,000 policemen and women will definitely boost the strength of the Police Force which is currently grossly inadequate and as such incapable of meeting the present security demands in the country.
This exercise will also serve as an opportunity for the teeming unemployed youths many of them graduates of institutions of higher learning, who daily roam the streets of major cities in the country in search of elusive jobs now to be gainfully employed.
