Popular Yoruba actress, Kemi Afolabi has begun work on her new traditional movie, Mo’dorisha. The movie directed by Adebayo Tijani will feature an all female cast. Tijani is known for his work on “Akandun” (2007) and “Igbeyin Ewuro” (2009).
Afolabi who studied Law at the University of Lagos is known for her roles on “Omo Pupa” (2008), “Oreke Mulero” (2006) and “Obinrin Ale” (2009). She recently played a role in Kolade Oyewande’s new flick titled ”Oba Onimajemu”.
In a recent interview, the actress Kemi Afolabi spoke on the perceived discrimination in Nollywood.
According to the actress, while she doesn’t think there’s any kind of discrimination, she’s of the opinion that Yoruba movie scripts are better than others.
She also stated that the ‘English speaking industry,’ are not staying true to their culture.
