“The police are aware of the attack in Uzo-Uwani and the state commissioner of police is already there to ensure that situation is brought under control. The police are also collaborating with sister security agencies like the army, civil defence and the Department of State Services to handle the matter,” Amraizu said.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Nsukka that the suspected herdsmen numbering up to 300 invaded the community with guns and machetes, shooting sporadically and killing people.
“As they were killing people, they were also setting houses and vehicles ablaze. Many people have been killed; I do not have the actual number” he said.
A Facebook user Aluma Jona Enyi posted these photos alleging that they are corpses of victims of the attack. Below is what he wrote:
“There is fire on the mountain , another mass killing and property destructions by Fulani herdsmen in Nimbo community in Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu state just like what they did in Agatu, Benue state. many people ar confirmed dead now, many properties are destroyed including church buildings, cars, schools, residential houses etc.

Igbo people are the biggest cowards, The leaders are just thief’s and governor is a moron. You repel such in very drastic measure. These herdsmen have been well funded, they carry sophisticated weapon’s with great experience in usage. The so called loud speaking igbo thinks he is more superior when they are so empty. Self proclaimed warrior. I really don’t know how more to describe the situation but put every single blame to our leaders in the South. Why start a fight when you are so unprepared. Apparently the Igbo’s had attacked the fulani herdsmen thinking they stand a solid ground on their soil. Now you see the effect of starting a fight unprepared. Same was the result of the failed revolution of Biafra greed, theft, sabotage. Ojokwu and his comrades should have requested mercenaries of nations but greed etc.
