American comedian Chris Rock is finally breaking his silence on the attack he received on stage by Will Smith at the Oscars Awards back in March.
The comedian made this known during a stop in Liverpool on his multi-date tour with fellow comedian Dave Chappelle.
When Dave Chappelle asked, “Did that *BLEEP* hurt? in reference to the slap by Will Smith. Chris Rock, who has remained relatively quiet on the matter until now, replied saying, “Goddamn right, the *BLEEP BLEEP* hit me over a *BLEEP BLEEP* joke, the nicest joke I ever told.”
Chris Rock continued, “Will did the impression of a perfect person for 30 years, and he ripped his mask off and showed us he was as ugly as the rest of us.
Whatever the consequences are… I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on again and lets his real face breathe. I see myself in both men.”
Still using the art of stand-up comedy as a way to address the Oscars incident with Will Smith, while performing at London’s O2 Arena recently, both Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle addressed the attacks that they both experienced on stage earlier this year.
During his set, Chris Rock again took some time to speak on the Will Smith situation, saying, “*BLEEP* your hostage video,” which was in response to the apology video Will posted to his YouTube Channel and Instagram back in July.
If you would recall, Will Smith famously stormed the stage at the Academy Awards where he slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife’s alopecia condition.
The actor had briefly apologized at the time, but in July, he made an emotional Instagram post where he begged for Chris Rock’s forgiveness, and that of his family members, as well as fans that were disappointed by his actions.
