Nigerian alté act Boj has released a new single titled “Jabo” featuring fellow artist Odumodublvck. The track, produced by Rage, fuses Amapiano and Dance influences to create a dancefloor-ready tune.
On “Jabo,” which translates to “fall Down,” Boj showcases his free-flowing artistry with lyrics that serenade listeners. This marks the second collaboration between Boj and Odumodublvck, following their recent release “Olufunmi Reimagined” featuring ID Cabasa, Fireboy DML and Joeboy.
As Boj prepares for an upcoming project due later this summer, “Jabo” serves as a preview of his ability to craft bangers tailored for the dancefloors. Known professionally as Bolaji Odojukan, Boj has been pioneering the alté sound for over a decade.
Alté is a genre that blends Electronica, Afro-futurism, and R&B, moving away from the commercial sounds of Afro-pop in search of something deeper. Boj developed the sound alongside friends Teezee and Fresh L before embarking on a solo career with his debut album “Boj on the Mic”.
Boj’s open-hearted approach to music has earned him collaborations with global artists like WizKid, Skepta, and AjeButter. His Headie-award-winning project “Gbagada Express” featured a star-studded lineup including Davido, Ayra Starr, Mr Eazi, Fireboy, BNXN, Victony, Enny and Knucks.
As the alté scene he helped name continues to reshape global pop, Boj is working on a unique body of work that captures the last 12 years through his lens. He recently returned to Europe for Paris Fashion Week, attending shows from various brands, and plans to immerse himself in London’s culture before releasing new music
