As the early June window previously set for E3 draws closer, a multitude of game showcases, including Summer Game Fest, an Xbox event, Ubisoft Forward, and a Nintendo Direct, are gearing up. However, Sony is taking the lead with its PlayStation State of Play scheduled for Thursday, May 30. The event will kick off at 6PM ET, and fans can tune in on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.
Sony is notably departing from its usual PlayStation Showcase branding, traditionally used for its annual late-May stream. Sony has remained relatively quiet about announcing first-party PlayStation games for the upcoming months and years but plans to expand the lineup during this event.

The stream, set to run for over 30 minutes, will showcase 14 upcoming titles for PS5 and PS VR2, including some PlayStation Studios games set for release later this year.
Insomniac’s Wolverine game is expected to make an appearance. There’s also speculation about the potential feature of a Silent Hill 2 remake, although Konami might hold that for its Silent Hill Transmission event, which takes place at 7PM ET, following the State of Play.
Many fans hope Sony will announce Ghost of Tsushima 2, especially with the recent release of a stunning PC port of the original game. Other anticipated titles include Haven’s Fairgame$ and Firewalk’s Concord, while Bungie is likely to build excitement for The Final Shape, a Destiny 2 expansion. Reports also suggest a new Astro game from Team Asobi.
Guerrilla Games is confirmed to be developing more titles in the Horizon universe, and rumors of a Lego spinoff are circulating. Several studios under Sony, including Housemarque, Bluepoint, Santa Monica Studio, Bend, Media Molecule, and Naughty Dog, are working on undisclosed projects. Hopefully, some of these studios will reveal their work at the event.
