Google Meet Introduces Easy Device Switching During Calls

Google Meet now allows you to switch between devices without ending a call, offering greater flexibility during meetings. With the new “Switch here” feature, you can transfer an active Meet call from your computer to your phone or vice versa seamlessly. This makes it easier to change devices during a group session, whether you’re sitting at your desk or on the move, without disrupting the meeting.

Another added function lets you join a call from multiple devices simultaneously. This way, you can stay connected on a kitchen tablet and office computer, allowing you to multitask while attending your meeting.

The feature is user-friendly and doesn’t require you to learn new menus or buttons. To switch devices, simply open the same meeting link on the new device and click the blue “Switch here” button (replacing the Join button). If you want to join the call on two devices, choose “Other joining options” and select “Join here too.”

This call transfer feature is available to personal Google accounts as well as Workspace customers and is being rolled out to users starting today.
