A Delta High Court sitting in Effurun has granted Brownhill Investment Company owned by former NFF President Amaju Pinnick and David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, an out-of-court settlement.
Amaju Pinnick through his company had in October 2023 filed a suit before the court having Davido, and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited, as joint defendants.
The company had sued the defendants over a breach of contract to perform at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again Concert’.
In the suit, the appellant prayed the court to award a sum of two billion naira as general damages against the defendants for failing to honor the contract of the concert.
Amaju Pinnick’s company also prayed to the court for one hundred and fifty million naira as legal and professional fees with an additional thirty million naira as the filling cost.
Reacting to the court verdict, counsel to the defendants, Oladayo Ogungbe said, “Davido is coming again to Warri on October 4 to perform, that forms part of the settlement. It’s fine. It is better than going through the rigors of litigations.”
He added, “Both parties consider the option of having the matter settled out of court, which in my opinion as a lawyer, is the best approach to any litigation. It is a win-win situation to both parties.”
We guess this now puts to rest the drama between Davido and the former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick.
