The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to party members prosecuting litigation against each other to discontinue and withdraw the court cases or face stiff sanctions.
Rising from the 146th meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) held on Thursday in Abuja, the national leadership of the party warned that failure to withdraw the court cases will attract immediate suspension and ultimately expulsion from the party.
The statement signed by the APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, specifically warned that members of the APC Benue state chapter should adhere to the directive promptly. The APC leadership also maintained that the unity and integrity of the ruling party must be upheld, adding that resolving legal matters internally is paramount to maintaining the cohesion and focus of the APC. The NWC of our great party deliberated and resolved as follows: That all ongoing cases filed in the name of the party or associated with matters concerning the party and involving party members must be discontinued and withdrawn from the courts within the next seven days.
