Joining the ranks of platinum-certified Afrobeats hits in France, Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’ gains significant recognition.
The global phenomenon of TikTok has played a pivotal role in the international success of Afrobeats tracks, including Oxlade’s electrifying performance of ‘Kulosa’ at Colors Studios, igniting a viral wave of user-generated content and propelling the song to worldwide acclaim.
In a remarkable milestone, Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’ attains diamond status from the prestigious French music certification body SNEP, amassing over 50 million streams in France.
Originally released in June 2022 and distributed by Epic Records France, ‘Kulosa’ catapulted Oxlade to prominence on the international stage, reaching No. 18 on the SNEP chart and securing the 141st position on the year-end chart.
During a live recording of the Zero Conditions Podcast in December 2023, Oxlade reminisced about the electrifying reception from the crowd during his performance of ‘Kulosa’ at Wizkid’s Accor Arena concert in France.
The music video, which sparked a viral social media challenge, has amassed over 80 million views on YouTube. Additionally, Oxlade collaborated with Cuban pop sensation Camila Cabello on the remix, further amplifying the song’s global impact.
With over 287 million streams on Spotify alone, ‘Kulosa’ joins the esteemed company of Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last,’ Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush,’ and Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ as one of the few Afrobeats tracks certified diamond in France.
