Tiwa Savage, the renowned singer/songwriter, is set to make her debut in the film industry with “Water and Garri,” a Nigerian movie that will exclusively premiere on Prime Video worldwide in 2024, spanning over 240 countries and territories.
The narrative unfolds around Aisha (played by Savage), an ambitious fashion designer returning to her homeland after a decade in the U.S. due to a family tragedy. Upon her return, she encounters a transformed environment characterized by heightened violence and tension. Reconnecting with family, old friends, and a past love, Aisha must confront her scars and the guilt she left behind. Filmed in Cape Coast, Ghana, the feature boasts compelling cinematography and storytelling, featuring a cast including Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.
