Keke Palmer has taken a significant step by filing a restraining order against her former partner, Darius Jackson, citing instances of physical abuse in their now-ended relationship. The documents, obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday (November 9), detail Palmer’s claims of enduring abuse throughout their two-year association, some of which reportedly occurred in the presence of their son, Leodis.
Palmer asserts that the definitive breakup occurred in late October, with the incident prompting the restraining order filing taking place on November 5. According to Palmer, Jackson entered her residence without her knowledge or consent, issuing threats, and engaging in physical violence, including an alleged assault that involved grabbing her neck, striking her, throwing her over furniture, and stealing her phone.
The actor, known for ‘Nope,’ further alleges that Jackson was involved in numerous instances of physical violence, such as destroying personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing belongings into the street, preventing her from leaving by taking her car keys, hitting her in front of their son, using profanities about her to their son, threatening self-harm with a gun if she left, harassment, and other forms of physical and emotional abuse.
Signs of trouble in Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson’s relationship emerged over the summer, notably when Palmer attended Usher’s Las Vegas residency, where he serenaded her with ‘There Goes My Baby.’ The viral clip, featuring Palmer in a see-through black lace dress dancing with Usher, drew criticism from Jackson on Twitter.
In the aftermath, Jackson removed all photos of himself and Palmer from his Instagram, and reports surfaced of alleged direct messages to other women. Despite Jackson’s denial of having moved on, the couple was spotted together at a Beyoncé concert in September, appearing ‘cozy.’
