The Federal Controller of Works for Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, has made a plea to drivers to use alternate routes in order to prevent traffic congestion, as extensive repairs on the Adekunle exit of the Third Mainland Bridge are scheduled to commence on Monday.
Kesha made the appeal on Sunday while addressing a World Press Conference on the 11.8 km Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
She said the repairs would begin on Monday, and the Adekunle exit ramp would be closed to traffic from 9.00 a.m. for a two-week rehabilitation after which work would move to other areas.
She noted that the Adekunle section of the Third Mainland Bridge had four ramps, which had a convergence point, adding that repair of all the ramps would be completed within five weeks.
