Wale has remained relatively low-key in the Hip Hop world since 2021, with only occasional guest appearances and singles. However, it seems he’s ready to make a proper comeback.
On Tuesday (October 17), the Shine rapper broke his silence with his first tweet in over a year. He shared a slightly blurry photo of himself along with a brief caption that hinted at new music coming this weekend.

“My silence has been valuable… see you on Friday. Folarin is back,” he wrote, keeping the details under wraps.
Wale’s last album, “Folarin II,” was released in the fall of 2021. Given this, some fans speculate that his social media post might be teasing a third installment in the album series, but this remains speculative.
Over the past few years, the 39-year-old artist has released singles and collaborated with various artists, from Jeremih and Bryson Tiller to Damon Albarn. However, he hasn’t confirmed a new album yet. Nevertheless, his return to Twitter with hints of new music suggests more than just a one-off single.
Wale has kept a low profile for a while, and earlier this year, he explained that he’s been avoiding FaceTime calls due to his introverted nature. In March, he took to his Instagram Story to make it clear that he won’t be accepting video calls, stating, “Don’t ever FaceTime me. Please and thank you. My phone is broken, even if it’s new, it’s broken… FaceTime doesn’t work. Thank you. Sincerely, overwhelmed introvert.”
